About the Role We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Class B Machinist to support our manufacturing operations. This position requires a solid understanding of machining principles, experience operating both manual and CNC machines, and the ability to work from detailed instructions or blueprints. A Class B Machinist should be capable of handling less complex setups independently while assisting with more complex operations under supervision. What You'll Do Set up and operate standard machine tools including lathes, mills, and other shop equipment Perform basic CNC machine operation (load programs, change tools, make offsets) Read and interpret basic blueprints, drawings, and process documentation Inspect parts using standard measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges Follow detailed setup instructions and production routers Maintain machines and tooling in good working order Identify and report any machining or quality issues to the lead or supervisor Support Class A Machinists and assist with more complex setups as needed Ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures Keep work area clean, organized, and efficient All other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred 2-4 years of experience in a machining or manufacturing environment Ability to perform basic machine setups and manipulate offsets. Working knowledge of manual and basic CNC machining processes Ability to read blueprints and follow verbal and written instructions Proficient with measuring tools and basic inspection procedures Basic understanding of tolerances and machining standards Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Ability to stand, bend, and lift materials up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications:
