Job Summary Laguna Tools is seeking a hands-on technician to repair and refurbish Laguna Classic woodworking machines and inspect, test, and prepare industrial machines for customer shipment. The Machinery Repair & Refurbishment Technician performs inspection, repair, cleaning, testing, and packaging to ensure machines meet company quality standards and are ready for resale or customer delivery. Role and Responsibilities Machine Refurbishment Inspect returned, used, demo, and damaged Laguna Classic machines to determine necessary repairs. Diagnose mechanical problems; replace worn, damaged, or missing components; and perform adjustments, alignment, lubrication, and assembly. Complete electrical troubleshooting and repairs within training and authorization. Clean machines and restore their appearance to established resale standards. Test machine operation and verify guards, controls, and safety features before release. Record inspection findings, repairs completed, and parts used. Industrial Machine Preparation Inspect industrial machines before shipment to verify condition and readiness; perform or coordinate required operational checks and testing. Confirm machine model, serial number, configuration, and accessories match the customer order. Ensure manuals, tooling, loose parts, and ordered accessories are included. Secure moving components and protect machine surfaces according to approved shipping procedures. Assist with palletizing, crating, labeling, and staging machines for shipment. Document machine condition and packaging with photographs and completed checklists; report missing components, damage, or unresolved issues before shipment. General Responsibilities Coordinate priorities with warehouse, shipping, parts, and technical support teams. Maintain an organized work area and properly care for tools and equipment. Follow company safety procedures, including equipment isolation requirements; operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment only when trained and authorized. Qualifications and Education Requirements Experience in machinery repair, maintenance, assembly, or refurbishment. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills; ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment. Ability to read and follow technical manuals, diagrams, and work instructions. Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through; ability to work independently and communicate effectively with team members. Preferred Skills Experience with woodworking or industrial machinery and familiarity with Laguna Classic machines. Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge. Experience preparing heavy equipment for shipment, including palletizing and crating. Forklift operating experience. Work Environment This position works in a warehouse and machine shop environment and uses tools, machinery, and material-handling equipment. Required safety procedures must be followed. Physical Demands The work involves standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling tools and machine components. The employee must be able to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation, and use appropriate lifting equipment or team assistance when moving heavy items.

Pay:

$22.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
