The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC lathes in a job shop or production environment. You will be responsible for producing high-quality parts with tight tolerances. Duties Independently set up and operate 2-axis and 4-axis CNC lathes with live-tooling Read and interpret engineering drawings Select, mount, and indicate in jaws, collets, fixtures, and tooling Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, thread gauges, etc.) Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues (tool wear, surface finish, dimensional drift) Deburr and clean parts as needed Complete production paperwork and router travelers accurately Assist with proving out new programs or fixtures Qualifications Minimum 5 years of recent CNC lathe setup/operating experience in a metalworking environment Experience with live tooling, Y-axis, and sub-spindle work Strong proficiency with Fanuc or Mori Seiki (DMG Mori) controls Ability to edit G-code and adjust offsets, wear comps, and work coordinates Solid understanding of GD&T Experience machining a variety of materials: stainless steel, aluminum, tool steel, titanium, Inconel, plastics, etc. Experience holding tight tolerances (±0.003″ or better) Basic math skills for measurements and calculations essential for machining tasks Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods Preferred Skills (not required but a big plus) Programming experience (Fusion 360, Mastercam, Esprit, or G-code from scratch) Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement
Pay:
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour
