CNC Machinist - Setup & Programming Are you the machinist people turn to when a setup is difficult, a tolerance is tight, or a program needs to run better? We are seeking experienced CNC Machinists with strong setup and programming skills for confidential manufacturing opportunities in the Greater San Antonio Metro. The ideal candidate can take a part from print to finished component, perform complete machine setups, make program changes, troubleshoot machining issues, and consistently produce tight-tolerance parts. What You'll Do Set up and program CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis equipment Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs Select tooling, feeds, speeds, offsets, and workholding Perform prove-outs and first-piece inspections Troubleshoot machining, tooling, finish, and tolerance issues Make program adjustments at the machine as needed Use precision measuring equipment to verify finished parts Improve cycle times, tooling performance, and machining efficiency Work with Engineering, Production, and Quality to resolve manufacturing issues What We're Looking For Previous CNC machining experience Strong CNC setup skills Programming or program-editing experience Ability to work from print to finished part Strong understanding of GD&T and tight tolerances Knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds, offsets, and workholding Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Experience with CNC milling, turning, or both Preferred Experience Mastercam or comparable CAM software 3-, 4-, or 5-axis machining Haas, Mazak, DMG MORI, Okuma, Doosan, or similar equipment Fanuc or similar controls Complex precision machining Fixture and workholding experience First article inspection Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement You May Be a Strong Fit If You Perform your own setups rather than only running established jobs Can make program changes at the machine Understand how tooling, feeds, speeds, offsets, and workholding affect the finished part Can troubleshoot chatter, finish, tolerance, and tooling problems Take pride in producing accurate, high-quality components Enjoy solving challenging machining problems To Apply Please submit a resume for confidential consideration.
