$24.32/hr Position Summary Our client is a global medical device manufacturer and an established leader in structural heart technology. They are looking for a Machinist to join their manufacturing team in Draper, Utah on a 12 month contract. In this hands-on role, you will set up and run a range of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments, and fabricate or modify components used to build and repair tools and equipment. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their manufacturing career who takes pride in accurate, high-quality work. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Fabricate and modify parts to build or repair tools and machines. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using shop math and measuring instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers. Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines. Monitor feed rates and speeds throughout the machining process. Measure, inspect and test finished parts to catch defects and confirm they meet specifications. Set machine controls, and enter, retrieve or edit programs on computer-controlled equipment. Maintain industrial machines using knowledge of mechanics, shop math, metal properties, layout and machining procedures. Education & Experience High school diploma or
GED. 0-2
years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge & Skills Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including how they are designed, used, repaired and maintained. Basic understanding of blueprints, technical drawings, plans and models used in precision production. Basic knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality control.
