Job Description

Job Summary As a member of the manufacturing team, the Senior CNC Machinist is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Mill/Turn machines, CNC lathes, and 3- to 5-axis CNC mills. Working from prints, process sheets, CAD models, and quality documentation, they produce precision components to print. This role owns complex setups, ensures part accuracy and consistency, supports drawing and setup-sheet accuracy, and contributes to a clean, safe, and collaborative shop environment focused on continuous improvement.

- Program, set up, run, inspect, and adjust processes to produce conforming parts with minimal supervision
- Write and modify CNC programs (Mastercam) and troubleshoot complex toolpaths
- Set up and optimize 3- to 5-axis mills and Mill/Turn equipment; resolve process and tooling issues independently
- Update setup sheets to improve accuracy, clarity, and repeatability
- Confirm machined parts are compatible with mating parts as required; support drawing accuracy improvements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; report tool damage or machine incidents immediately
- Coach and train apprentices and machine operators; mentor new employees and identify training needs
- Participate in daily KPI/problem-solving discussions and drive improvements that reduce delays and improve throughput Requirements
- Ticketed trade certificate or equivalent experience
- 6+ years CNC machining experience, including advanced setups and programming
- Expert in Mastercam
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T; experience working to close tolerances in a variety of metals
- Experience with 4- and 5-axis CNC mills and Mill/Turn machines
- Organized, reliable, and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Available for night shift in the future
