The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines to produce precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge to ensure high-quality output. The CNC Machinist will work closely with engineering and production teams to optimize machining operations and maintain safety standards. Responsibilities Program, set up, and operate CNC equipment including CNC lathes and milling machines (Fanuc controls preferred) Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications to produce precise parts Utilize CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and other CAM programming tools for toolpath creation Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measuring instruments Conduct routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues using electrical discharge machining techniques and basic electrical knowledge Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for machining operations Ensure adherence to safety protocols while operating power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment when necessary Maintain documentation of production runs, machine settings, and quality inspections Support lean manufacturing initiatives by optimizing machining processes for efficiency and waste reduction Assist in assembly or plastics injection molding processes as needed Qualifications Proven experience with CNC programming and operation of CNC milling machines and CNC lathes (Fanuc controls preferred) Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T, mechanical principles, and manufacturing processes Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar design tools Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), welding, and plastics injection molding is a plus Familiarity with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, CMMs, and bore gauges Basic math skills necessary for machine setup and quality control calculations Ability to read technical drawings and interpret complex specifications accurately Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to improve process efficiency Ability to operate forklifts or power tools safely (certification preferred) Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in assembly or tooling setup is desirable This position offers an opportunity for a dedicated CNC Machinist to contribute to high-quality manufacturing operations within a dynamic environment.
