In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, setting up, and operating precision machining equipment to produce high-quality aerospace components. Your expertise in CNC machining, manual machining, and blueprint interpretation will ensure that all parts meet strict aerospace standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge aerospace projects by delivering precision craftsmanship and innovative solutions. Duties Operate CNC machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders, utilizing Fanuc or similar control systems for precise metal machining. Program CNC equipment using G-code and M-code, including CAM programming and CNC G-code programming to produce complex aerospace parts. Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and manufacturing specifications to ensure accurate production. Set up machinery by selecting appropriate tooling, measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for precise measurement and quality control. Perform manual machining tasks using hand tools, power tools, lathes, grinders, and other machining tools to refine or finish parts as needed. Conduct quality inspections utilizing precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances align with aerospace standards. Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols during machine setup, operation, and assembly processes. Qualifications Proven experience as an Aerospace Machinist or in a similar precision manufacturing role within the aerospace industry. Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes including CNC lathe and CNC milling machine operations. Proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or other CAD programs for part design review. Skilled in blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, GD&T principles, and measurement techniques for quality assurance. Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), tooling selection, M-code programming, and CNC quality inspection methods. Ability to perform machine setup efficiently using measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines. Mechanical knowledge combined with basic math skills essential for precise calculations during machining processes. Experience with manual machining techniques including lathe work and grinding operations. Knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code; experience with Fanuc controls is a plus. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to interpret technical drawings accurately. Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
