We're seeking an experienced lathe machinist to join our first or second shift team. Days are 6:30 -2:30 M-F or 2nd shift from 2:30 PM to 1 AM, Monday thru Thursday. Duties Set up and operate CNC lathe machines using Okuma/Fanuc or similar control systems, ensuring precise machining according to technical drawings and specifications Interpret mechanical blueprints and manufacturing instructions to produce complex metal parts with tight tolerances Program CNC lathes using G-code and M-code, incorporating CAM software to optimize machining operations Perform machine calibration, tooling changes, and adjustments to maintain optimal performance and quality standards Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement tools for quality control Inspect finished parts for conformance with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards and document inspection results Maintain a clean, organized work area while adhering to safety protocols related to machine operation, welding, grinding, and material handling including forklift operation Assist in troubleshooting machining issues and perform manual machining tasks when necessary to support production needs Experience Proven experience operating CNC lathe machines in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of CNC G-code programming and machine setup procedures Strong understanding of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and precision measurement techniques using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines Familiarity with machining tools such as grinders, hand tools, power tools, and tooling management Ability to interpret mechanical drawings accurately and apply GD&T principles effectively Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, speeds, feeds, and tolerances necessary for precision machining Mechanical knowledge of tooling assemblies helpful Prior experience with Lean manufacturing principles or working within a continuous improvement environment is desirable Join us in shaping the future of manufacturing by delivering top-tier craftsmanship through innovative CNC lathe machining!
