Position Overview We are seeking a skilled, self-motivated CNC Machine Operator
•Lathe to support our development and production operations. You will operate CNC lathes to run small-quantity R&D parts and larger aerospace production runs. The ideal candidate has experience with Fanuc controls and live tooling, values tight tolerances, and thrives in an AS9100-certified environment.
Principal Responsibilities Machine Operation:
Operate CNC Lathes.
Setup & Preparation:
Review setup sheets, blueprints, bills of materials (BOM), and specifications to determine machining sequences and dimensions.
Tooling Integration:
Assemble cutting tools in holders, set cutter length, position tools in machine spindles, and select appropriate part-holding fixtures.
Program Management:
Load control media into the machine console, retrieve pre-programmed instructions from the database, and edit machine speeds and feeds.
Material Versatility:
Machine a wide variety of materials including Titanium, Brass, Copper, Inconel, Steel, Stainless Steel, Plastic, and Aluminum.
Quality Inspection:
Perform inspection and gauging operations using standard equipment to maintain quality standards.
Process Control:
Monitor machine operations by sight and sound to detect malfunctions or worn tools. Utilize override controls to correct out-of-tolerance conditions.
Maintenance:
Clean machines, tooling, and parts; perform basic preventative machine maintenance.
Specific Job Skills & Qualifications Blueprint Literacy:
Ability to read and interpret complex aerospace blueprints and specifications.
Technical Aptitude:
Proficient in reading and operating various inspection equipment.
Mathematical Competency:
Strong basic math skills (fractions, decimals, ratios, percentages, and interpreting bar graphs).
Software Knowledge:
Familiarity with Autocad software and Fanuc Controls.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent written and oral communication, and a quick-learning mindset.
Experience & Education:
At least two years of CNC machining experience is required. Preferred Skills (Plus, but Not Required): MasterCam knowledge and mill-turn with live tooling. Ability to setup and edit programs CNC Lathe Programming using MasterCam with experience in programming live tooling with sub spindle and bar feeder.
