Job Description

CNC Setup Machinist TruFit Staffing is hiring an experienced CNC Setup Machinist for a growing precision machining company in Auburn, WA. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist who takes pride in producing high-quality parts, working independently, and maintaining consistent production in a structured manufacturing environment. This is not an entry-level operator position —the ideal candidate has proven setup experience and can confidently perform complete machine setups with minimal supervision.
Compensation:
$35.00-$52.00/hr
DOE Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30
PM Location:
Auburn, WA Responsibilities Set up CNC mills and/or lathes from tooling and fixture installation through first article and production handoff. Load tooling, establish tool and work offsets, prove out programs, and make controlled program adjustments. Read and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, travelers, inspection requirements, and machining documentation. Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, indicators, and height gauges. Maintain quality standards while supporting palletized, fixture-based, and multi-operation machining processes. Collaborate with programmers, quality inspectors, leads, and supervisors to resolve issues and improve manufacturing processes. Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area while meeting production expectations. Requirements Proven experience performing complete CNC machine setups in a production environment. Strong ability to read blueprints, understand GD&T, tolerances, tooling, fixtures, and workholding. Experience inspecting precision machined components using standard inspection equipment. Ability to troubleshoot setup issues and maintain consistent quality with minimal supervision. Familiarity with standardized tooling, setup sheets, process controls, and G10 work offsets preferred. Experience working in AS9100 and/or ISO quality environments. Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to producing quality work. Ability to comply with ITAR-related policies and company safety procedures. Preferred Qualifications Aerospace machining experience. Experience with Haas, Okuma, DN Solutions, Mori, Mazak, Fanuc, or similar CNC equipment. Experience with horizontal machining centers, pallet systems, probing, and multi-operation machining. Understanding of G-code, CNC program flow, and safe prove-out practices. Benefits Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) plan available in compliance with ACA rules and regulations.
