Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Jr Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to develop foundational machining skills under the guidance of experienced professionals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong aptitude for mechanical tasks, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to learning and growth. You will be instrumental in supporting our production operations by performing various machining tasks, ensuring precision and quality in every component. This role requires a solid understanding of basic mathematics and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain various machine tools, including lathes and mills, to produce precision parts. Perform basic machine setup and adjustments for different machining operations. Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to understand project specifications. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify part dimensions. Execute drilling and cutting operations with accuracy and efficiency. Assist in the selection and application of appropriate cutting tools and tooling for machining tasks. Follow established operational procedures and safety guidelines. Contribute to problem-solving and troubleshooting of minor machining issues. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to good housekeeping practices. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status and any encountered challenges.
Minimum Qualifications:
General knowledge of basic mathematics for measurements and calculations. Working knowledge of hand tools commonly used in a machine shop environment. General knowledge of machinery and machine tools. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Basic understanding of measurement tools like calipers and micrometers. A strong willingness to learn and develop skills in CNC machining and other machining processes. Detail-oriented approach to tasks and a commitment to quality. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team. General understanding of manufacturing operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with CNC milling or CNC lathe operations. Exposure to blueprinting and understanding of machining tolerances. Basic understanding of tooling and its application in machining. Previous experience with drilling or grinding machine operations. Demonstrated problem-solving aptitude.
