Job Title:

Truss Builder / Assembler Job Description This role involves performing repetitive assembly operations to mass-produce trusses and related products in a fast-paced production environment. You will use hand and power tools, follow measurements and blueprints, and work at various stations on the assembly line to ensure products meet quality and safety standards. Responsibilities Place parts in the correct position and relationship to each other according to specifications and instructions. Bolt, clip, screw, cement, or otherwise fasten parts together using appropriate hand and power tools. Cut materials and products to specific measurements as required for each job. Identify and remove defective products from the production line to maintain quality standards. Operate and tend machines that perform force fitting or fastening operations on the assembly line. Rotate between different workstations as production needs change and as different models of products are produced. Adapt to working on varying models and types of trusses and related products as production requirements shift. Read and follow simple written instructions, basic schematics, and blueprints as needed for assembly and installation tasks. Use a tape measure and basic math skills to verify dimensions and ensure accurate cuts and assembly. Maintain a clean and safe work area by cleaning equipment, floors, and workspaces in accordance with safety procedures. Follow all safety guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and safe operation of tools and machinery. Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and facility operations. Essential Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple written instructions and basic documentation. Ability to write simple correspondence and communicate clearly in individual and small group situations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and apply basic math skills in a production environment. Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure for cutting and assembly tasks. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions. Ability to solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand and power tools in a manufacturing or construction setting. Ability to work in a repetitive, fast-paced production environment with changing tasks and product models. Willingness and ability to work overtime when required to meet production demands. Capability to continuously stand, walk, reach, and use hands for handling and assembly tasks throughout the shift. Physical ability to continuously lift and move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds. Additional Skills & Qualifications No specific education or prior experience required; on-the-job training is provided. Prior carpentry experience is helpful and considered an advantage. Experience in construction, truss assembly, or manufacturing processes is beneficial. Familiarity with reading blueprints, schematics, and basic installation instructions is a plus. Comfort using hand tools, power tools, and production equipment in an industrial environment. Ability to work effectively as part of a production team and move between workstations as needed. Work Environment This position is based in a manufacturing and production facility with a physically active workday. You will continuously stand, walk, use your hands to handle materials and tools, reach with arms, and communicate with team members. The role occasionally requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. You will regularly lift and move materials, including continuous lifting up to 25 pounds, frequent lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasional lifting up to 100 pounds. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles, as well as frequent exposure to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, electrical risks, and vibration. The noise level is usually loud, and you will use ear plugs for hearing protection and eye protection along with other required personal protective equipment. The setting is a production floor where tasks and product models can change, and overtime may be required based on operational needs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richland, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
