About Us Since 1993, A.B. Sealer Inc. has been a Wisconsin-based manufacturer of packaging equipment used by manufacturers across the U.S. We build, sell, and support industrial case sealers and case erectors with a strong focus on equipment reliability, practical design, and customer service. Our machines are assembled and tested at our facility in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Because we are a small manufacturer, our employees have the opportunity to learn the complete machine-building process rather than performing the same repetitive task every day. Job Summary This is a hands-on, shop-floor position focused primarily on assembling packaging equipment from components through completed machines. The right candidate does not need to come to us as an experienced machine builder. We are willing to train someone who is dependable, mechanically inclined, comfortable working with tools, and motivated to learn. For someone who wants to develop their skills, there is significant room to grow into independently building, testing, troubleshooting, and supporting our equipment. Responsibilities Machine Assembly & Production Assemble case sealers, case erectors, and related packaging equipment Build mechanical assemblies and subassemblies using hand and power tools Follow drawings, assembly instructions, bills of material, and established build processes Accurately measure, position, fit, and fasten machine components Install and assist with mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical components as required Inspect work throughout the assembly process for proper fit, function, and quality Assist with setup, testing, and final preparation of completed equipment Learn multiple machine models and gradually take greater ownership of complete machine builds Shipping, Receiving & Inventory Assist with receiving, quality check, and organizing incoming parts and materials Pick parts and components for production Assist with inventory counts and maintaining organized component locations Prepare finished equipment for shipment Build or prepare skids, crates, and other shipping materials as needed Load and unload materials and equipment safely Shop & Production Support Maintain an organized and safe work area Assist with routine shop cleaning and organization Break down packaging and dispose of production waste Help identify missing parts, quality issues, or other problems that could delay production Work with other members of the production team to complete machines on schedule Qualifications Successful candidates should have: Strong mechanical aptitude Ability to safely use common hand and power tools Ability to read a tape measure and make basic calculations Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship Dependable attendance and work history Ability to work independently after training Ability to follow instructions while also asking questions when something does not look right Ability to stand for the majority of the workday Ability to lift up to approximately 50 pounds High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license Preferred — But Not Required Manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience Experience reading blueprints, drawings, or assembly diagrams Machinery or equipment-building experience Basic electrical or pneumatic experience Shipping and receiving experience Forklift experience Experience troubleshooting mechanical equipment Opportunity for Growth This position is intended to be more than an entry-level assembly job.
