CNC Programmer/Setup Machinist Location:

Classic Gears & Machining is a precision manufacturing company specializing in gears, sprockets, and custom-machined components for OEM customers across a wide range of industries. For more than 25 years, our team has combined skilled craftsmanship with modern CNC technology to produce dependable, high-quality parts. We are looking for an experienced CNC Programmer/Setup Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in producing accurate parts, enjoys solving machining challenges, and wants to contribute ideas that improve safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery. Behm Consulting, LLC is partnering with Classic Gears & Machining to identify an experienced machinist who is ready to become an important part of the team. What You'll Do Program, set up, and operate CNC equipment to produce precision components according to customer requirements. Review engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and routings to determine the best machining approach. Select appropriate tooling, workholding, and machining methods for each job. Make machine adjustments and troubleshoot issues to maintain consistent production and quality. Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment. Verify finished components meet dimensional and quality requirements. Work collaboratively with other machinists and team members to identify and resolve production challenges. Participate in continuous improvement and small-group problem-solving efforts. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Take ownership of assigned work and look for ways to improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Work occasional overtime when needed to support customer delivery schedules. What We're Looking For 3-5 years of CNC machining experience or comparable hands-on experience. Experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC machinery. Ability to confidently read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and routings. Strong understanding of machining processes and precision measurement. Comfortable using inspection equipment to verify part dimensions. Strong mathematical and problem-solving abilities. High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Dependable, team-oriented approach with good communication skills. Willingness to learn, take ownership, and contribute ideas for improving the manufacturing process.
