Position Overview:

Gilman Precision is seeking a skilled Vertical/Horizontal CNC Machinist to join our 1st shift team. This role includes machine setup, operation, and part inspection on both vertical and horizontal machining centers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and experienced in precision machining environments.

What You'll Do:

Set up and operate vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers Load programs, adjust offsets, and make minor edits as needed Inspect parts using precision measuring tools to ensure quality and accuracy Monitor machining processes and make adjustments to maintain tolerances Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions (preferred) Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Required Qualifications:

Experience operating CNC machining centers (vertical and/or horizontal) Setup experience, including tooling and fixturing Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Preferred Qualifications Experience on both vertical and horizontal machines Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T Background in precision or tight-tolerance machining Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Full-time, stable 1st shift schedule Opportunity to work with modern CNC equipment Supportive team environment with growth opportunities
