Kapco is looking for a Buyer II to join our Grafton, WI team. Come Together at Kapco Video A skilled, professional position that performs purchasing activities in support of plant operations, ensuring cost-effective sourcing of raw materials and finished goods to meet demand and quality standards, overseeing procurement activities with a focus on strategic and tactical procurement of raw material. Position requires a bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Business, or similar discipline and a minimum of five years of purchasing experience, with at least three years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of supply chain processes, cost analysis, and inventory management preferred. Demonstrates strong negotiation, commercial knowledge, communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day execution and verification of purchase orders with raw material suppliers, ensuring accuracy and alignment with production schedules. Proactively engage with suppliers to address expedite requests, providing clear and timely updates to internal stakeholders. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conduct vendor assessments, and manage relationships with existing suppliers. Track and communicate key metrics to supply base. Partner with cross-functional teams to forecast material needs, set optimal inventory levels, and coordinate timely procurement aligned with production demands. Monitor and analyze material costs, track purchasing trends, and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Develop and implement freight strategies for raw materials in collaboration with internal teams. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical practices in all procurement activities. Other duties as assigned.
