Job Description

In the performance of respective tasks and duties, all HART employees are expected to perform his/her work in accordance with the HART values: Integrity, Quality, Customer-Employee-Family Focus, Continuous Improvement, Accountability, and Safety. A CNC Machinist produces machined parts by setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. Essential Functions Coordinate with team to implement and enhance production efficiencies Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints, specifications, and design data in order to calculate part dimension compatibility with machines, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates Professionally communicate and work with others in all departments, as needed, to troubleshoot CNC programming Provide progress, status, and troubleshooting reports to management Understand the specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc. Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate the required number of parts Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly Perform all secondary and manual machining functions required to produce a quality part Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures Completes and maintains paperwork for parts Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position requires frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling objects that are 30 pounds or heavier. The position also requires sitting in an upright position using a computer, keyboard, and mouse for extended periods of time. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Flex hours may be allowed. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or graduation from a certified technical school, preferred Minimum three years of related experience in CNC Machining required, and Mastercam Programming a plus. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Computer savvy with a basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools CNC setup experience Experience using a 3D CAD software - preferably SolidWorks to create parts, assemblies, and drawings. Ability to read a 2D layout but be able to visualize it in 3D to understand potential CNC tool collision points Blueprint reading, advanced shop math, and understanding of measuring devices Ability to interpret engineering documentation and write appropriate machine-level instructions, including revisions to existing programs Ability to professionally communicate and work with others in both the Engineering and Production/Assembly teams Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities Must be self-motivated and positive AAP/EEO Statement HART Design & Manufacturing is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
