We are currently seeking a Machinist to operate a HMC and perform machining functions from complex blueprints using creativity and experience with set ups.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate advanced ability to set up, program and operate a Horizontal Machining Center.
- Includes fixture placement and alignment, loading programs, tool setting, making adjustments to programs and offsets to ensure finished parts meet specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Make machine adjustments to maintain print specifications and part quality.
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make appropriate adjustments to keep production running.
- Monitor tool wear and replace or adjust tooling as needed.
- Deburr, clean, and visually inspect finished parts.
- While hoists are provided to assist with lifting, you must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Education & Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years experience operating large CNC Milling equipment in a job shop environment is required and a technical degree is strongly preferred. A high school degree or equivalency is required.
- Experience with an OKK HM1000S or similar horizontal machining center strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, and offsets.
- Must possess solid blueprint reading skills, strong math skills, and in process inspection skills and understand both metric and English measurements.
- Proficient with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other inspection equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
