Job Description

Role Overview As a CNC Machinist, you will oversee the operation, upkeep, and diagnostic repair of production machinery within both standalone stations and integrated work cells. Your daily tasks involve managing CNC and manual equipment, alongside specialized systems like leak testers, washers, sensors, lasers, and Poka-Yoke setups. By providing direct technical expertise, you will play a vital role in upholding our standards for safety, output quality, operational efficiency, and ongoing process optimization. Core Responsibilities Initiate and manage the operation of manual, CNC, and auxiliary production machinery. Adjust machine settings and tooling to ensure all components consistently meet client specifications. Monitor the condition of cutting tools and execute necessary replacements for drills, inserts, taps, and cutters to ensure optimal performance. Diagnose and resolve malfunctions related to machine hardware, Poka-Yoke systems, lasers, sensors, and tooling. Maintain leak testing equipment by replacing O-rings, seals, and other critical components. Conduct thorough visual checks and utilize precision instruments like calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges. Analyze and apply information from blueprints, dimension reports, and quality standards to your daily tasks. Execute and record Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks, such as fluid checks, cleaning, lubrication, and filter replacements. Keep precise logs regarding production counts, downtime, scrap rates, and quality metrics. Update and verify quality documentation to ensure all work instructions remain current and accurate. Collaborate with Process Engineering and Maintenance departments to resolve technical challenges and enhance workflow. Contribute to organizational goals by supporting waste reduction and continuous improvement projects. Mentor and train colleagues to foster knowledge transfer regarding equipment operation and process standards. Uphold a tidy and secure workspace by strictly adhering to 5S protocols and safety regulations. Qualifications Completion of a high school diploma or an equivalent credential. A minimum of four years of relevant experience in a machining environment is preferred. Possess a robust mechanical aptitude and the ability to solve complex technical problems. Demonstrate the ability to interpret technical blueprints, quality documentation, and work instructions. Apply shop math skills, including decimals, fractions, and both metric and English measurement systems. Utilize precision measurement tools such as indicators, calipers, and micrometers with high accuracy. Recognize signs of tool wear to proactively determine when adjustments or replacements are necessary. Communicate effectively through both verbal and written channels. Showcase leadership potential through coaching, training, and effective problem-solving. Work autonomously while maintaining the ability to collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams. Physical Demands and Work Environment This position is located in a heavy manufacturing facility where you will encounter noise, chemicals, powered vehicle traffic, and ergonomic challenges. You must be capable of standing, walking, bending, reaching, and stooping throughout the shop floor. The role requires the physical capacity to lift up to 50 pounds and the consistent use of personal protective equipment, including safety-toe footwear, hearing protection, hand protection, and safety glasses.
