Manual Horizontal Lathe Machinist Shift:

1st Shift

•Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM

Pay Range:

$25

•30/hour (based on experience)

Milwaukee Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manual Horizontal Lathe Machinist to join a growing team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with manual machining, can consistently hold tight tolerances (±0.001" or better), and thrives working independently with minimal supervision in a high-precision environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operate a manual horizontal lathe to machine metal components to exact print specifications

Perform complete machine setups, including tooling selection, alignment, and speed/feed adjustments

Bore soft jaws and modify fixturing for unique setups

Maintain tolerance requirements of ±0.001" or tighter

Inspect and verify parts using micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments

Read and interpret detailed blueprints and engineering drawings

Collaborate with team leads, engineers, and quality personnel to troubleshoot machining challenges

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications

2+ years of experience operating a manual horizontal lathe in a precision machining environment

Proven ability to consistently hold tight tolerances

Strong blueprint reading skills

Proficient with precision measuring tools

Ability to independently complete setups and troubleshoot issues

Must own personal tools, including indicators and general hand tools

Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

Reliable, motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
