Travel Machine Builder / Millwright Curt G. Unlike a traditional manufacturing facility focused on repetitive assembly, JOA builds custom machinery from the ground up. Every build is unique, giving technicians the opportunity to work on complex automation equipment while continuously expanding their mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills. Daily Responsibilities Mechanical assembly of large custom OEM equipment Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and schematics Install bearings, shafts, gearboxes, conveyors, motors, and structural components Align and integrate machine assemblies Install and wire electrical devices including sensors, switches, photo eyes, motors, and control components Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues during build and startup Take measurements using precision measuring instruments Support factory acceptance testing (FAT) and commissioning activities Work alongside engineers and production teams to complete machine builds on schedule Participate in machine breakdown, shipment preparation, and final inspections What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Machine building, millwright, or industrial maintenance experience Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings Strong mechanical aptitude Experience with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment Experience with mechanical assembly and equipment installation Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong safety mindset and professional attitude Preferred Experience Conveyor systems Packaging equipment Automated machinery Hydraulics and pneumatics Industrial electrical troubleshooting Servo systems Robotics PLC-controlled equipment Custom machinery manufacturing Ideal Backgrounds Machine Builder Millwright Mechanical Technician Industrial Maintenance Technician Mechanical Assembler Packaging Equipment Technician Conveyor System Technician Automation Technician Custom Machinery Builder Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician Work Environment What makes JOA different from most machine building opportunities is the ability to work on a complete machine build from start to finish. Schedule 1st Shift 5:30 AM - 3:30 PM 2nd Shift 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM Additional Details Monday-Friday schedule Optional overtime on Saturdays Average 50-60 hours per week Candidates must be flexible to work either shift Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Milwaukee, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $34.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
