Position Machinists are responsible for machining and fabricating structural metal products. Responsibilities Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as brakes, CNC mills, CNC lathes, manual mills, saws, and drill presses Follow job related materials, work instructions and set up sheets. Designs and constructs templates and fixtures upon receiving approval from supervisor. Operate an overhead crane and forklift. Qualifications Ability to work from established layout and follows sequence of operations. Able to enter information into established computer system, production records, logs, time clock, and other forms. Can verify conformance of work piece to specifications. Ability to use and read tape measures, dial calipers, micrometers and bore micrometers. Read and interpret manufacturing blueprints.
