Job Description

A Laser Table Operator performs laser cutting for a variety of manufacturing needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete production records using a computer format to maintain cost, efficiencies, inventory and integrity. Establish proper stop location, adjust laser beam focal point. Loads sheet/plate raw material onto table by lifting stock into position via jib crane and sheet lifter Loads sheet/plate raw material onto table by lifting stock into position via jib crane and sheet lifter Make proper set-ups for cutting operations Remove cut parts from skeleton Deburrs and removes sharp edges as necessary Perform prescribed maintenance as required. Perform all dimensional inspections. Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor Ensure proper cleanliness by following good housekeeping practices.
Qualifications and Requirements:
1+ years of experience on Trumpf, Amada or similar CNC laser cutting machines Select and set up lenses based on material type and thickness, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment. Knowledge about shield gases used during laser cutting operation Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper and Brass Ability to follow directions and get along well with others. Outstanding punctuality and attendance required. Ability to read and understand a tape measure, standard and metric required.
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. In addition, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
