Job Description
MBA Building Supplies is a leading firm in light gauge steel framing. A respected industry leader, MBA has been in business since 1986, and has demonstrated a strong pattern of growth with locations in Libertyville, IL, Rainbow City, AL, Dallas, TX, Frackville, PA and now in Plant City, FL.
Summary:
Machine Helper supports production by assisting the Machine Operator in the setup, operation, and maintenance of machinery. This role ensures products are produced safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards and safety regulations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare machines and work areas for daily production activities.
- Assist in setting up machinery and product configurations.
- Support machine operators with changeovers between jobs.
- Record and scan raw materials accurately for each production run.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of machines and surrounding workspaces.
- Promptly report equipment issues or necessary repairs to the Machine Operator.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Follow PPE requirements and uphold all plant safety standards.
- Observe and enforce housekeeping and safety procedures (including machine guarding and lockout/tagout processes).
- Participate in on-the-job training provided by machine operators.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned to support production.
Skills Required:
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Basic reading and math skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Familiarity with basic measuring tools
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, and using foot/hand controls
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent requiredSchedule:
- 8-hour shift
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
