Laundry Production Supervisor Primary Function Efficiently unpack, sort, and categorize apparel and accessories from shipping containers, ensuring proper processing for pricing, laundering, or recycling. Key Responsibilities Maintain awareness of load numbers and restricted item lists. Assess items and determine if they should be sent for pricing, washing, steaming, recycling, or disposal. Sort sellable garments for hanging or steaming: Hanging garments: Lay across a wire grocery cart with the correct load number ticket.
Steaming garments:
Place on a separate wire grocery cart with the load number ticket.
Formal wear:
Hang inside the laundry area, attaching load number tickets to each item. Process accessories and ensure proper handling:
Jewelry:
Bag and label with load number ticket, placing it in the designated cart near the production manager's office.
Shoes:
Place in a blue or canvas buggy with a load number ticket.
Sunglasses:
Bag together and place in the rolling rack container.
Other accessories:
Sort into rolling rack containers, labeling each bin with a load number ticket and initials. Record unit quantities in the Log Activity section of the Receiving App, including the number of pieces placed in bins, the time spent on processing cargo, and any other activities that temporarily take you away from your primary duties. Maintain a clean and organized workstation. Dispose of recyclables in designated Gaylords. Stay informed on clothing styles, brands, and industry trends. Assist with cross-training and support other operational departments as needed. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills:
Basic math and calculator operation. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Light to moderate lifting. Repetitive motion tasks.
Work Schedule Hours:
Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (40 hours/week).
Mandatory Overtime:
As needed.
Required Workdays:
Fridays before Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Winter Event. Business day before July 4th. Saturday before Thanksgiving. One holiday per year is required at either sales channel.
