GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Relief Operator will learn multiple operator functions within the sawmill to provide relief for breaks and vacations.

POSITION DETAILS FULL-TIME 40 HOURS PER WEEK NONEXEMPT DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
Complete routine cleanup and inspections of equipment in mill. Know the sizes of rough and finished lumber. Required to learn multiple operator functions within the sawmill to provide relief for breaks and vacations. Perform daily quality checks. Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations and utilizing safety equipment. Must be willing to learn various operator jobs within the mill.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Willing to work any shift including weekends, holidays, or overtime as needed. Commitment to safety. Excellent attendance record. Good communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to learn and adapt to change. Ability to adhere to all safety policies and regulations including wearing safety equipment. Ability to work in noisy envirnoment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift at least 40 pounds. Ability to work from elevated positions using required safety gear and procedures. Ability to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for extended periods of time. Able to work in a variety of environmental conditions.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED required.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Preferred Experience:
Driving and operating a mobile equipment such as front end loader, skid steer or forklift within an industrial or manufacturing environment. Basic computer skills. Experience working in lumber or wood products industry and/or manufacturing. Experience troubleshooting equipment. Sawmill experience preferred. We Are An Equal Opportunity Employer
