Assembly Operator Job Description As an Assembly Operator, you will be responsible for completing job cards, routers, and job documentation required for the manufacturing process. You will operate various equipment including lathes, welders, presses, grinders, cable cutters, swagers, and packaging equipment to manufacture cable assemblies. Your role will involve maintaining material traceability, performing inspections, proof-loading assembled parts, and packaging processed materials. You will also be responsible for reporting any part or process quality issues. Responsibilities Operate lathes, welders, presses, grinders, cable cutters, swagers, and packaging equipment. Complete records of materials usage to maintain material traceability. Monitor and perform visual and tactile inspection of assembled parts. Perform proof-loading of assembled parts. Gather samples for start-up and in-process testing and inspection. Package and label processed material according to job card instructions. Report part or process quality issues to the supervisor or quality personnel. Essential Skills Visual inspection skills. Proficiency in using hand tools. Ability to assemble cables and cable assemblies. Prior manufacturing experience preferred but not required. Excellent attention to detail. Good documentation practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications Self-motivation and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment. Understanding of part workmanship. Ability to analyze data and make recommendations. Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing defects. Ability to communicate effectively. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work on the first shift, Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5:30pm, with optional Saturday overtime depending on production needs from 8am to 3pm. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Allendale, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
