Job Title:
Assembly Operator Job Description We are seeking dedicated Assembly Operators for our facility, focusing on the production of half shafts and other automotive components. Operators will be responsible for operating machinery, adhering to work instructions, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards while meeting production targets. Responsibilities Feed and operate machinery on the production line. Inspect parts and components to ensure they meet quality criteria. Assemble products according to work instructions. Assist in various production area tasks. Monitor the production process for efficiency. Perform visual inspections of produced parts according to work instructions and quality alerts. Conduct basic quality and testing checks. Execute additional production-related activities as instructed by management. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workplace. Pack final products following work instructions. Communicate effectively with coworkers to ensure efficient production and deadlines are met. Stand for long periods as required. Participate in continuous training within the production department. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Ability to lift 25 pounds repetitively and squat, bend, or duck. Capability to stand for the duration of the shift. Good attendance record. Experience in the automotive industry is preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications Proficiency with tape measures, power tools, hand tools, and general production equipment. Experience in assembly, general labor, loading, packing, and packaging. Skills in cleaning, sweeping, and sorting. Ability to perform inspections and quality checks. Why Work Here? Employees can accrue holiday and vacation benefits while on contract. Work Environment Work in a 30,000 sq. ft warehouse that is part of a larger, 150,000 sq. ft, climate-controlled facility. The plant has been completely renovated and is maintained in pristine condition. Steel-toed shoes are required from the first day. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pontiac, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.35/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
