Job Description

The Embroidery Machine Operator is responsible for the production of embroidered textiles. This person must be able to work with single head 6 and 10 needle Brother embroidery machines. You would be responsible for following production instructions as defined in our online order tracking system regarding placement, size of embroidery, thread colors, etc. In this position, you will be responsible for: 1. Embroidery Machine Setup You will make thread, stabilizer, and hoop selections necessary to complete each job. Upload digitized file(s) to the embroidery machine. Thread the machines accordingly and assign each needle section a color associated with the colors in the digitizing for the current project. 2. Embroidery Machine Operation You will be tasked with sewing work that includes applying various digitized logos, initials, names, artwork, and other patterns onto a variety of different garments and fabrics as requested by our clients. All new digitized files will need to be test stitched on sample fabric to ensure quality results prior to application on client garments. You will need to troubleshoot any problems that arise with your machine(s) or the digitized file and resolve them. Follow standard operating procedures as well as health and safety guidelines. 3. Embroidery Machine Maintenance Perform regular machine maintenance tasks such as tension adjustments, needle & small parts replacement, cleaning, and oiling per machine maintenance guidelines. Document recurring machine fail/error codes and issues. Submit requests for machine servicing once annually and as needed for more extensive repairs. 4. Other Responsibilities Prepare and send artwork for digitizing. Sometimes allowing room for you to provide some creative input. Use our digitizing program to in-house digitize simple names and phrases. Order & stock threads, stabilizers, fabrics and other materials needed for embroidery. Assist with inventory management. Maintain a clean and organized department as you will be working on multiple projects at one time. Ensure all embroidery work is completed within given deadlines. Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Upkeep our extensive database that catalogs all client files with very specific details that allow for quick repetition when client wishes to place a repeat order or match details of a previous order to a new one. When documented appropriately, anyone can fill in and know exactly how and what was used to complete the job.
Skill Requirements:
You must be able to interpret customer requests and execute its production with minimal waste and errors. You must keep up with the latest trends in the industry. You must have an understanding of the basics of color theory and composition. Prefer some experience with programs such as Printavo (order & production tracking), Adobe Illustrator & Adobe Photoshop (digital designing, editing, and viewing), Floriani or other digitizing programs (create & edit digital embroidery designs, convert images into stitch files, and customize colors and stitch patterns). You must have the ability to pay close attention to details. This is a vital skill that helps reduce human error during the production process. You must be able to communicate effectively and respectfully with clients and other staff members about the orders to ensure that the finished product meets their expectations.
Pay:
