This role is responsible for the setup, operation, adjustment, troubleshooting, and quality control of slitting equipment used in flexible packaging and converting. The ideal candidate has experience operating a Deacro slitter or comparable manufacturing equipment and takes ownership of machine performance, product quality, productivity, and waste reduction. Don't have slitting experience? We encourage experienced machine operators from related manufacturing or converting environments to apply. Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and a willingness to learn are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate slitting machinery safely and efficiently. Adjust machine settings to meet production and product specifications. Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot operational issues. Ensure production orders are completed accurately and on schedule. Perform quality checks throughout the production process and maintain consistent product quality. Minimize material waste and support efficient machine operation. Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a machine or manufacturing operator. Experience with slitting, converting, flexible packaging, or similar equipment is an asset. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to learn and operate specialized production equipment. Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Basic math skills and the ability to accurately follow measurements and production specifications. Ability to read and write English fluently. Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift. Ability to routinely lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Work Environment Overtime may be required based on production needs. Flexibility and willingness to work overtime when required is expected. Hands-on manufacturing environment requiring standing, lifting, bending, and repetitive tasks. Required PPE includes hair nets, beard nets where applicable, and hearing protection. Safety shoes are subsidized after successful completion of probation, in accordance with company policy.

AM Training:
Initial training will be scheduled during the day shift for approximately two weeks before transitioning to the regular evening/night shift .
