Machine Operator Job Description The Packaging Machine Operator plays a crucial role in operating automated packaging equipment within a food manufacturing environment. The position involves supporting daily production activities, adjusting and maintaining machinery, transferring products between departments, and ensuring that finished goods are accurately packed, labeled, and palletized. This role demands strong attention to detail, basic mechanical skills, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods. Responsibilities Operate automated packaging equipment, including loading film stock for packaging bags. Perform basic machine adjustments and assist with changeovers. Operate Schneider Packer FresCo GL-14 packaging equipment. Replenish fulfillment lines by packing, labeling, and palletizing bagged coffee products. Transfer coffee beans from the roasting department to packaging equipment. Move finished products to packaging and fulfillment areas as required. Assist the maintenance department with equipment-related tasks. Clean equipment and surrounding areas according to AIB and company sanitation standards. Complete basic production reporting and maintain accuracy in product handling. Adhere to all food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards. Essential Skills Experience as a machine operator in a food manufacturing or packaging environment. Experience with flexible packaging and packaging equipment. English comprehension required. Ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow instructions accurately. Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling products and documentation. Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. Candidates should expect to be actively engaged in tasks at all times and be open to working in other departments as needed. The environment requires standing and performing physical tasks for extended periods. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Alameda, CA.
