In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining extrusion machinery used in plastics production, ensuring the continuous and efficient flow of materials through the extrusion process. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with industrial equipment, and a commitment to safety and quality standards. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-volume manufacturing operations while maintaining precision and operational excellence. Duties Set up, operate, and monitor extrusion machines, including plastics extrusion and plastics blow molding equipment, ensuring optimal performance throughout production runs. Conduct routine inspections of extruded products using precision measurement instruments and dimensional measurement tools to verify quality specifications. Perform adjustments on machinery such as press brake machines, CNC lathes, CNC systems, and robotic systems to maintain product consistency. Troubleshoot mechanical issues or engineering problems promptly using hand tools and industrial troubleshooting techniques to minimize downtime. Handle materials safely using forklifts and materials handling equipment, adhering strictly to safety protocols. Conduct quality inspections at various stages of production, documenting measurements and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Maintain accurate records of machine operation parameters, measurements, and production data for quality control and process improvement. Assist in assembly tasks related to extruded components or related manufacturing processes as needed. Follow safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all team members. Skills Extensive experience with plastics extrusion, plastics blow molding, and plastics injection molding processes. Proficiency in operating programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for machine automation control. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with troubleshooting skills for industrial equipment such as CNC lathes, CNC systems, press brake machines, and robotic systems. Ability to perform precision measurements using tools like calipers, micrometers, and other measurement instruments for quality control. Familiarity with materials handling equipment including forklifts and warehouse procedures. Knowledge of safety protocols pertinent to manufacturing environments involving heavy machinery. Basic math skills necessary for setting machine parameters and measuring product dimensions accurately. Experience in manufacturing settings with a focus on quality inspection and adherence to industry standards. Competence in using hand tools for minor repairs or adjustments on machinery. Understanding of engineering troubleshooting techniques related to industrial equipment issues. This role is integral to our manufacturing operations where precision, safety, and efficiency are paramount.
