Job Description

Job Summary Proferrin Labs, a division of Colorado Biolabs, Inc., is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Weigh Up Operator to join our Production team. The Weigh Up Operator is responsible for accurately weighing, dispensing, staging, and documenting raw materials used in the manufacturing of dietary supplements. This position plays an important role in ensuring formulation accuracy, material traceability, product quality, and the prevention of cross-contamination. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with precise measurements, following detailed instructions, and maintaining accurate production documentation in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and food safety requirements. Responsibilities Material Preparation & Weighing Retrieve and verify raw materials against batch production records, dispensing sheets, and approved manufacturing instructions. Accurately weigh, measure, and dispense raw materials according to approved formulations. Verify material identity, lot numbers, expiration or retest dates, quantities, and material status labels before use. Properly stage and identify weighed materials for production. Use calibrated scales and weighing equipment according to established procedures. Follow established procedures to prevent material mix-ups, contamination, and weighing errors. Documentation & Inventory Control Accurately document all weighing, dispensing, and material-handling activities in batch production records and inventory systems. Maintain complete traceability of materials used throughout the manufacturing process. Verify that batch records and dispensing documentation are complete, accurate, and legible. Report material discrepancies, documentation errors, and out-of-specification conditions to Quality Assurance and supervision. Assist with inventory reconciliation, material verification, and cycle counts as needed. Safety, Quality & Compliance Follow cGMP requirements, SOPs, and established food safety procedures. Follow allergen-control and cross-contamination prevention procedures. Properly clean and sanitize weighing equipment, utensils, containers, and dispensing areas. Safely handle powders, ingredients, and manufacturing materials using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready weigh-up and staging areas. Follow company safety policies and promptly report unsafe conditions or equipment concerns. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent. At least 1 year of manufacturing, warehouse, or material-dispensing experience. Basic math skills, including the ability to accurately measure, calculate, and verify quantities. Ability to follow written instructions, batch production records, formulas, and SOPs. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to maintain accurate and legible production documentation. Good organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM. Ability to reliably commute to the Jurupa Valley, CA facility. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience weighing, measuring, or dispensing raw materials in a manufacturing environment. Experience using calibrated scales, weighing systems, or precision measuring equipment. Knowledge of dietary supplement cGMP requirements. Previous experience in food, dietary supplement, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing environments. Experience with batch production records, material traceability, and inventory control. Basic computer skills and experience using inventory or production systems. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift. Ability to bend, squat, reach, and perform repetitive motions. Ability to safely work with powders, ingredients, and manufacturing equipment. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
