BSI has an opening for a Survey Chainman to join our growing team in Oakland, CA. If you love heights and highly technical work, this is the position for you!
Primary Responsibilities:
Able to assist and perform structural steel surveys. Assists with survey computations and data collection Trains lower-level techs in the use of survey equipment, survey methods and safety standards. Ensures accuracy and production of survey crew Assists with duties as assigned by the Party Chief Communicates with Party Chief about any abnormalities discovered in the field Maintains survey equipment ensuring it s clean and operational
Basic Qualifications, Skills & Requirements:
Member of the Local 3 Union High school diploma or equivalent Structural Steel Survey Experience CAD capability is a plus Ability to travel throughout the Western US on short notice. Valid State driver's license, including an MVR record that is deemed acceptable by the company. Continued employment is dependent on meeting project specific requirements. OSHA 10 Certification preferred Lift certification preferred Ability to Lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds Walk over rough and uneven terrain carrying equipment Move in and around confined and cluttered places stand up to 12 hours per day Work overhead Use hands to grasp and arms to reach Be willing to work exposed to the elements and at extreme heights Perform tasks and ability to work outside in various types of weather conditions.
