Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Mail Machine Operator & Driver to join our team. This position combines local commercial driving with mail production and warehouse responsibilities. The primary focus of this role is the safe and timely transportation of bulk mail and customer orders, with additional responsibilities operating mailing equipment and assisting with daily production needs. Duties & Responsibilities Driver Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 26-foot DOT-regulated delivery truck for local deliveries
- Transport bulk mail to the West Sacramento USPS facility and deliver completed jobs and materials to customers as needed
- Inspect delivery paperwork and verify job numbers, materials, tray counts, pallet counts, and other required information before leaving the facility
- Safely load, stack, and secure mail and other materials on the truck using a forklift
- Ensure all materials are properly secured and protected during transportation
- Complete deliveries accurately and on schedule
- Communicate with the warehouse, production team, and customer service staff regarding delivery schedules, special instructions, or any issues with a shipment
- Follow all applicable DOT requirements, traffic laws, company safety policies, and safe driving practices
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns
- Maintain a clean and organized truck and loading area Mail Machine & Production Responsibilities
- Gather materials and assemble samples according to work orders, ensuring all required pieces are present, properly folded, and matched to variable information when required
- Set up and operate automatic inserting machines and other mailing equipment
- Set up matching, read/print functions, and basic inkjet operations on the DS200 inserter
- Operate and assist with mail equipment including inserters, tabbers, inkjet printers, and poly bagging equipment
- Monitor mail runs for quality, including proper insertion, matching, printing, and ensuring there is no smearing or other production issues
- Keep machines supplied with the necessary materials throughout each job
- Communicate equipment, material, or production issues to the appropriate team member and help ensure deadlines are met
- Clean and organize the work area at the completion of each job
- Count and document overs and complete and distribute required overs forms to the CSR
- Review work orders and mail information forms for special instructions
- Safely operate a forklift for loading, unloading, and other warehouse tasks Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience driving a DOT-regulated vehicle, preferably a 26-foot truck
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
- Ability to safely operate a forklift or willingness to complete required training
- Ability to lift, carry, load, and move mail and materials as needed
- Strong attention to detail and ability to verify paperwork, job numbers, and quantities
- Dependable and punctual with a strong commitment to meeting delivery and production deadlines
- Ability to work independently while also working effectively with a team
- Ability to follow safety procedures, company policies, and applicable DOT regulations
