JOB TITLE
Packaging and Laboratory Technician, Level
I RESPONSIBLE TO
Production Manager
GENERAL DUTIES
  • The Packaging and Laboratory Technician is responsible for the assembly and packaging of products and supporting the Production Department by maintaining lab-ware, documentation, inventory and helping with special projects
  • Specific distribution of Packaging Technician Duties and Laboratory Technician duties will be allocated by the supervisor as needed
  • Additional duties and modification may be added as the need arises
SPECIFIC DUTIES OF PACKAGING
  • Assemble finished good products and print using barcode software, label, fill, cap, and package
  • Examine and inspect labels and finished good products to ensure that packing specifications are met
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures and properly document process with good documentation practices
  • Maintain inventory of packaging supplies
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary work place, including washing filling equipment and accessories
  • General lab and equipment maintenance
  • Meet production deadlines and manage multiple projects
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Physical stamina including being able to bend and move between sitting and standing; being able to stand for long stretches of time.
  • Manual dexterity including good hand-eye coordination; must possess full range of otion with hands and fingers and be able to perform repetitive manual tasks such as screwing caps, labeling, and filling bottles.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 40 pounds.
  • Able to work in the cold room periodically, which is kept at 2

SPECIFIC DUTIES OF LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
  • Maintain lab-ware, bulk containers, laboratory equipment and instrument consumables by cleaning and washing
  • Keep general laboratory supplies ready and stocked
  • Scan, indexes, files, and maintains production records
  • Animal Technician Duties including: maintenance and upkeep of mouse facilities, maintenance of laboratory mice, inventory management of animal colony supplies, weekly cage cleaning, bottle washing and feeding; cleaning and maintenance record keeping; proper receipt and transfer of animal shipments; tail and/or ear marking
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work area in accordance with standard laboratory practice and procedures
  • Additional duties may be added as the need arises
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • High school graduate
