This position involves operating and setting up plastic tube cutting and marking equipment. It's ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with measurements and numbers, and able to accurately read blueprints, drawings, job specifications, and work instructions. The ability to work accurately with fractions, decimals, measurements, and basic mathematical calculations is an important part of this role. This is a steady, full-time opportunity with weekly pay. This position is ideal for individuals with machine operation, manufacturing, or production experience — though prior experience is not required.
What You'll Be Doing:
Operate plastic tube cutting and marking equipment, including Artos cutting machines and Kingsley hot stamp foil marking machines Read and interpret job specifications, purchase orders, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions to determine material requirements, machine settings, and production specifications Set up machines and fixtures according to drawings, specifications, and work instructions Make accurate machine adjustments to ensure parts are cut and marked according to customer requirements Perform type setting and create labels using computer systems Use rulers, scales, and dial calipers to take accurate measurements and verify finished parts Perform continuous quality inspections to confirm accuracy of cuts, markings, positioning, clarity, and part dimensions Perform basic machine maintenance, including oiling machines, dies, and workpieces as required Use automated computer systems for labeling and timekeeping Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow all safety procedures and maintain safe work habits Work cooperatively with supervisors and other team members Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred; related experience or training may be considered in place of formal education Previous machine operation, manufacturing, production, or related experience helpful but not required Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, job specifications, and work instructions Comfortable using rulers, scales, and dial calipers Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers; work with common fractions and decimals; apply calculations across units of measurement; and accurately measure and verify dimensions Basic computer skills for labeling and timekeeping systems Ability to communicate and work effectively with others Strong safety awareness and dependable work habits Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods Frequent use of hands for handling, operating, and adjusting equipment Regularly lift or move up to 20 lbs and occasionally up to 25 lbs
