Job Description
Job Summary The packaging technician is responsible for the production and/or packaging of a variety of manufactured products. The packaging technician is a support role for several areas within the manufacturing. The position requires knowledge of product and be able to identify mistakes. This person be reliable and hardworking with great communications skills. Responsibilities Verifies and keep records as required. Assemble hardware bags or kits on the production line. Assist in priming the line as needed. Monitor hardware inventory and notify supervisor when levels are low. Keep hardware area and shipping department clean and organized. Identify and recommend areas of improvement. Assemble cartons with needed paperwork to keep the production line primed. Print labels for orders. Print and label all UPS/FedEx kits and shrink wrap all stock orders. Close kits on the production line and ensure weight is accurate. Production duties such as manual lifting, packaging, taping, labeling, and assembly operations. Execute and document quality inspections routinely. Works with other departments as needed and required. Stocks items in their appropriate places as needed. Operate forklift or pallet jacks to move, convey or hoist shipments from one location to another. Communicates issues with shipping supervisor. Ensure work area and equipment are maintained in a clean and orderly condition. Report defective materials, process or questionable conditions to the shipping supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills Proven experience as a packaging technician or other related position. Ability to read, write and interpret documents. Ability to use basic Math. Ability to use common sense in understanding tasks and resolving issues. Knowledge of the safety, legal and handling procedures of goods. Excellent communications skills. Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities. Ability to be forklift certified.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
