Job Summary:
The role is vital for the precise, efficient, and compliant packaging of cannabis products intended for Connecticut dispensaries. This position requires hands-on handling of finished cannabis goods, accurate application of labels, and ensuring all packaging meets regulatory requirements and company quality benchmarks. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a regulated production setting and possess a keen eye for detail. This role involves close collaboration with production, quality control, and inventory teams to guarantee all products are packaged and labeled accurately, safely, and without delay.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Package cannabis flower, concentrates, edibles, and other products safely and efficiently into designated containers (jars, bags, vials) per company standards. Verify that each product is correctly sealed, labeled, and prepared for retail distribution. Operate and maintain packaging machinery (filling machines, labelers, heat sealers), ensuring correct functionality. Execute regular cleaning and maintenance of equipment for optimal performance and contamination prevention. Apply state-required labels precisely to all cannabis products, ensuring full adherence to Connecticut cannabis regulations, including potency data, warnings, and other legal specifics. Maintain strict attention to detail in verifying the correct weight, packaging, and labeling for every product. Assist with inventory counts and ensure packaging supplies are replenished promptly. Maintain precise records of packaged goods and ensure proper entry into state-mandated seed-to-sale tracking systems (Connecticut compliant). Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and cleanliness standards to foster a safe and sanitary work environment. Comply with all workplace safety policies, actively contributing to the facility's safety culture. Work with supervisors to enhance packaging efficiency and streamline workflows. Report any issues with packaging lines, products, or materials to the Packaging Supervisor or Production Manager without delay. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent. 1+ year in a manufacturing, production, or packaging role, preferably in a regulated field (e.g., food, pharmaceuticals, cannabis). Cannabis packaging experience is a plus. Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to precision and accuracy. Ability to operate and perform minor troubleshooting on packaging equipment. Strong organizational skills and capability to maintain accurate records. Effective teamwork skills and clear communication with colleagues and supervisors.
Physical Demands:
This role is performed in a cultivation environment that may have limited natural light, variable temperatures, and elevated noise levels. Team members should be prepared for periods of prolonged standing or sitting, as well as frequent bending, stooping, and other repetitive tasks on hard surfaces. The position also requires the regular use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as gloves, masks, and hairnets, and may include working in temperature-controlled or cleanroom conditions. Candidates must be comfortable performing light manual labor, including lifting between 30-50 lbs., while maintaining attention to safety and quality standards.
