Job Description

Company Overview Mirror Polishing & Plating Company Inc. is a comprehensive, world-renowned surface finishing and fabrication provider specializing in the repair, resurfacing, and coating of industrial rolls and cylinders. Purpose of Position:
To ensure quality grinding of customer rolls and cylindrical parts.
Core Responsibilities and Function:
  • Sets-up and operates O.D. Roll Grinding machines as directed.
  • Review work instructions and/or blueprints to understand specifications of work scope.
  • Dresses grinding wheels and grinds customer parts with wheels and belts.
  • Inspects all finished work with company approved inspection techniques and equipment.
  • Maintains proper coolant concentrations and levels of coolant tanks.
  • Cleans coolant tanks as required.
  • Completes all required routine (daily/weekly) preventative maintenance as directed.
  • Keeps work area within department cleaned daily.
  • Moves or coordinates movements of finished work to next step of the process as directed on the job ticket.
  • Any task assigned by supervisor or management.
  • Needs to use hands and feet to be able to put on Personal Protection Equipment including goggles, boots and gloves when needed.
  • Needs to be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Regularly required to be on feet 80-90% of time.
  • Regularly uses hand tools and heavy machinery requiring good hand-and-eye coordination, balance and leg strength.
Preferred Skills:
  • Mechanical and math aptitudes
  • Able to read Blueprints
  • Able to use measuring equipment, i.e. calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc…
  • Organizational and housekeeping skills
Job Details:
  • Hourly Rate is based on skill set and years of experience. Full-time; 1st Shift; Monday through Friday (40 Hours per week)
  • 7:00am - 3:30pm (Flexible with start and end time)
  • Occasional shifts on
Saturdays Pay:
$25.00 - $35.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
