Job Description

Title:
SMT Assembly Description:
Performs assembly of surface mount assemblies as directed by engineering documentation. May perform printing of boards, assembly or re-flow of surface mount assemblies. Set-up of equipment in preparation for operation. May require the use of simple computer skills to perform trimming operations as required. May require the use of simple mechanical hand tools or measurement tools in the performance of their jobs. Must be able to monitor and schedule operations to optimize production efficiency.
Principle duties:
Organize workload and prepare for the start of the shift. Review process documentation such as -Engineering Documentation Load feeders per machine documentation Verify marking & value of component on load list. Verify quantity issued to job. Load verified feeders per load list onto production machine. Performs machine set-up. SMT machine programs. Paste information. Reflow programs. Fiducial set-up. Assemble to IPC-610 workmanship criteria. Interface with Production Manager and Quality for resolution of Production or quality issues. Participate in company and special training classes with emphasis on employee improvement. Must have excellent verbal communication skills to solve complex production problems with a variety of co-workers. Must be able to develop a good rapport with other department members and work in a highly detailed professional capacity.
Experience:
Previous experience in an electronics manufacturing environment preferred.
Technical:
Ability to read and understand blue books. Assembly to determine critical points. Ability to identify component values. Working knowledge of IPC 610.
Education:
High school diploma and a minimum of 6 months experience working on a surface mount assembly line.
Physical Environment:
Standing most shifts. Will be exposed to machinery that emits heat. Able to lift 10 lbs.
Shift:
Monday through Friday; 7:00AM-3:30PM.
