The ideal candidate has hands-on experience operating a fiber laser cutting machine and understands the importance of quality, accuracy, and efficiency in a production environment. Responsibilities Operate and monitor a fiber laser cutting machine to produce sheet metal parts according to drawings and job requirements. Load and unload sheets of various materials and gauges safely and efficiently. Set up and run laser cutting jobs, including selecting appropriate programs and verifying material setup. Monitor parts during production to ensure proper cuts, dimensions, and overall quality. Perform basic inspection of finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and other inspection equipment. Identify cutting issues, material problems, or machine errors and communicate them to management or maintenance. Sort, label, and organize completed parts for downstream fabrication processes. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all company safety procedures and proper material-handling practices. Assist with other shop and fabrication duties as needed.
Qualifications Required:
Previous hands-on experience operating a fiber laser cutting machine . Ability to safely handle and move sheet metal of different sizes, materials, and gauges . Ability to read and understand shop drawings and dimensions . Basic knowledge of measuring tools and dimensional inspection. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts. Reliable attendance and ability to work independently. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred:
Experience with CypCut or similar fiber laser control/CNC software. Experience with CNC machinery or other automated fabrication equipment. Experience with sheet metal fabrication. Ability to make basic adjustments to cutting parameters and troubleshoot common laser cutting issues. Familiarity with CAD/DXF files and nesting software. Physical Requirements Ability to regularly lift, move, and position sheet metal and finished parts. Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods. Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment when required. Ability to work around manufacturing equipment, noise, and metal fabrication processes. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who knows how to run a laser, not someone we're starting from scratch with . The right candidate should be comfortable loading material, setting up jobs, monitoring the machine, inspecting parts, and keeping production moving. Experience with CypCut is a strong plus , but experience with other fiber laser systems will also be considered.
