This is a hands-on role perfect for someone eager to learn the foundational skills of metal fabrication and become an integral part of our production process. About the Role This entry-level position is crucial for maintaining the flow of our operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling raw materials from receiving through the initial stages of cutting and preparation, as well as general shop support. This is a physical job that requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities Material Preparation & Handling:
Safely load, unload, and move raw materials (steel, aluminum, etc.) around the shop floor, often involving lifting and physical labor . Organize and manage material inventory, ensuring correct stock is available for upcoming jobs.
Cutting & Layout:
Read and interpret basic drawings and cut lists to determine material dimensions. Perform accurate measuring and layout on raw material stock. Operate essential cutting equipment (e.g., band saws, chop saws) to cut materials precisely to specifications.
General Shop Support:
Assist skilled fabricators and welders as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including daily cleanup. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned to support shop operations. Qualifications & Requirements Experience No prior professional fabrication experience is required; we will train the right candidate. Valid U.S. Driver's License is a plus. Skills
  • Must possess basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure accurately.
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort operating power tools.
  • Ability to read and understand basic technical drawings/blueprints (or willingness to learn immediately). Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds safely and repeatedly.
  • Comfort standing and performing physical tasks for extended periods. Personal Traits
