A Manufacturing Machine Operator operates machinery used in a manufacturing facility, including a range of machines used for the production or transport of goods.

The purpose of Punch Press Operator position is to configure and operate electrically powered presses to cut, shape, and form metal, plastic, or other materials used in manufacturing operations. The Punch Press Operator performs operations such as blanking, bending, punching, sanding, graining, grinding, and forming based on blueprints and other instructions. As a member of the Operator family, you may be asked to help cover other similar machines throughout the facility to maximize our capacity as business needs require.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material, and other written instructions or procedures. Set up and operate equipment to punch/cut sheet metal according to blueprints or product specifications. Test and adjust equipment to control speed, material feed and path of the punch; set up programming, according to blueprints or product specifications. Read work orders or production schedules to determine specifications, such as quantity, tooling, and materials to be used, dimensions and/or tolerances. Ensure equipment is working at full capacity and is stocked with needed materials. Perform periodic checks on output; measures completed parts to verify conformance to specifications. Monitor equipment operations for proper punching of parts; records operational data; identify and report production and/or parts issues to management. Separate parts from sheet metal blanks. Complete and maintain relevant documentation with correct information and data. Perform preventive maintenance including use of surface grinder to maintain punch and dies. Actively participate in improving processes and systems. Ensure that work meets quality standards. Promote a safe and clean work environment by continuously cleaning throughout the day. Consistently meet company set productivity guidelines. Consistently follow all safety instructions as outlined in the Associate Safety Manual. Adhere to Earnest Products Core Values, policies and procedures as outlined in the Associate Handbook. Regular attendance is an essential job requirement to meet company productivity standards. Overtime work as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is recommended. Trade School Certification or 2+ years' experience with punch press operations is recommended. Turret punch experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific punch press requirements. Strong background and experience in numerical reasoning and in using a variety of fabrication tools; drills, grinders, precision measuring tools. Must be able to speak, read and write in English. Proficient computer navigation and utilization skills High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
Working Conditions :
Clean, air-conditioned facility Safety glasses are required on the plant floor at all times. The use of gloves, and hearing protection as required.
Physical Demands:
Must have full range of motion and be able to kneel and bend for extended periods of time as tasks may require. This position requires continual use of your hands, considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. This position requires long periods of standing. The use of safety equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection is required. This position requires lifting and maneuvering 50lbs. without physical restrictions and up to 70lbs. with assistance of lifting equipment or with the assistance of other Team Members.
