certified machine and fabrication shop serving aerospace, defense, commercial, and industrial customers. We support everything from ambulance and specialty vehicle manufacturing to Navy, Army, and space programs. We run CNC machining, laser cutting, press brake forming, welding, tube bending, powder coating, and assembly in-house. Every day brings something different, and we need a CNC Laser Operator who takes pride in producing accurate parts, keeping material moving, and helping the rest of the shop stay on schedule. >> You'll take released work orders, material, and CNC programs and turn them into accurate laser-cut parts ready for the next operation.Specifically:
Set up, load, and operate the CNC laser cutting machine according to released work orders, drawings, and programs Load sheet metal onto the machine and verify the correct material, thickness, and quantity before running Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to understand part requirements and tolerances Select and verify the correct CNC program for each job Adjust machine parameters when needed to maintain cut quality and reliable operation Monitor the laser during production and respond to issues such as poor cut quality, tipped parts, material movement, or other abnormalities Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy, edge quality, and overall workmanship Separate, identify, and organize completed parts so they move correctly to the next operation Use a forklift to load material, move sheet stock, and empty scrap when needed Perform routine machine cleaning and basic operator-level maintenance Keep the laser area, material storage, and surrounding work area clean and organized Communicate production, quality, material, or equipment issues quickly so they can be addressed before they affect downstream operations >> Previous experience operating a CNC laser cutting machine or similar CNC equipment Comfortable reading blueprints and engineering drawings Basic understanding of dimensions, tolerances, and measuring tools Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts Basic math skills for measuring and verifying dimensions Ability to recognize cut-quality or machine-operation issues and make appropriate adjustments Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to be trained Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Dependable, organized, and able to work independently Willingness to help where needed in a fast-moving job shop environment Must be able to work in a U.S. Person / ITAR-controlled environment >> This role is for someone who takes ownership of the laser — making sure the right material is loaded, the right program is running, the parts are cutting correctly, and good parts keep moving through the shop. We are looking for someone who notices when something doesn't look or sound right, addresses problems before they become scrap, and takes pride in leaving the next operation with accurate, organized parts.
