Full Job Description Embroidery Machine Operator Job Description:
An Embroidery Machine Operator operates and maintains computerized embroidery machines to embroider logos and designs to apparel and textiles. Key responsibilities include setting up machines (threading, hooping), selecting appropriate threads/needles, troubleshooting, keeping a clean work environment, putting everything away daily, being well-organized, and performing quality checks to meet production deadlines.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Machine Setup & Operation:
Interprets work orders to set up industrial multi-head or single-head machines (e.g., Tajima, Barudan).
Production & Quality Control:
Hoops garments (placing fabric tightly), monitors stitching, rethreads the machine as needed, and inspects finished products for accuracy . Work with the current embroidery department manager to assist in keeping the department running smoothly and efficiently.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Performs daily cleaning, oils machines, changes needles, and adjusts thread tension to prevent defects. This includes fixing thread breaks, making bobbin changes and fixing bird nests.
Material Prep:
Selects and prepares correct threads, backing materials, and needles based on fabric type.
Finished Product Prep:
Steams and folds finished covers for shipping. Puts away all materials used for that job and cleans the work area before leaving.
KEY COMPETENCIES AND JOB QUALIFICATIONS
    Technical Proficiency:
    Strong experience operating industrial computerized embroidery machinery, preferably experience with Barudan brand multi-head machines.
    • Attention to
    Detail:
    Ability to spot minor stitching defects, read work orders thouroughly, and ensure precise placement.
      Physical Dexterity:
      Ability to perform manual tasks like hooping and delicate threading. Ability to lift 40lbs without issue or physical restraints.
        Problem-Solving:
        Capable of troubleshooting mechanical issues on the fly. Understanding of thread tensions, replacing needles, and other machine parts.
          Experience:
          Previous experience in a production environment is typically preferred. Digitizing knowledge is a plus, please mention if you have this!

          • Demonstration of excellent production skills About the company: We are an established company (22 years) in the golf industry and specialize in large scale embroidery, not much apparel.
          Average stitch count per sew is 60,000+ stitches.
          Pay:
          $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
