Packaging & Shipping Summary:
The Packaging & Shipping team ensures that the completed product is packaged, secured, staged, and loaded according to company standards to maintain product integrity and shipment accuracy. Core duties include safe forklift operation, pallet verification, skid stabilization, weighing and staging finished goods, inventory pulls, and loading per pick orders.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Forklift Operations (MANDATORY): Safely operate a sit‑down forklift and keep staging lanes clear in accordance with plant safety rules.
Move & Verify Finished Goods:
Transfer finished rolls to packaging/staging; verify stack pattern, roll alignment, and that paper/cardboard are correctly applied and not exposed.
  • Wood Cutting for
Palletization:
Use a table saw when required to cut wood blocks/supports to the proper size for pallet stabilization
    Stabilize Pallets:
    Install wood supports to prevent shifting (two per pallet; three for KAF), then strap and wrap securely.
      Weigh & Stage:
      Weigh skids prior to staging; if outside target weight, notify Quality; place completed skids in the correct staging location.
        Inventory:
        Put completed and labeled pallets in inventory
          Load Per Plan:
          Coordinate with Inventory to pull orders and load trucks/containers accurately per load plan and safety standards.
            Maintain Readiness:
            Change wrap film as needed and keep staging/shipping areas organized and free of hazards.
            Skills & Qualifications:
            • Current or prior forklift experience with the ability to meet ETI certification requirements.
            • Understanding pallet patterns, roll stability, and basic weight verification.
            • Ability to safely and properly use a table saw for cutting wood pallet supports.
            • Strong attention to detail; ability to read labels, work orders, and load plans accurately.
            • Clear communication and teamwork with Inventory, Quality, and Production teams.
            • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
            • High school diploma or GED preferred; warehouse or manufacturing experience required.
            Physical & Work Environment:
            • Prolonged standing, bending, lifting, and twisting.
            • Ability to lift 50-100 lbs.
            • Warehouse environment with fluctuating extreme temperatures. Position Type & Schedule
