Spooling Operator (1st Shift 8a-4p)

Position Summary Suhner USA is seeking motivated and dependable individuals to join our Winding team as Spooling Operators. This position is responsible for operating spooling and payoff machines, producing high-quality wire spools, completing production paperwork, and supporting safe and efficient manufacturing operations. This role offers opportunities for growth through multiple operator levels based on experience, machine knowledge, independence, and productivity. Key Responsibilities Level 1 - New Hire / Basic Operation Operate 1-2 spooling machines on the small side of spooling (22's or 48's) Work with brass, stainless, galvanized wire, flocking, and fishing line Learn machine setup procedures and production paperwork Operate payoff spooling machines with support from experienced operators Produce quality spools while following work instructions and safety standards Level 2 Independently operate 2+ spooling or payoff lines Produce quality spools with little to no assistance Complete all required production paperwork accurately Troubleshoot minor machine issues and maintain production flow Level 3 Independently operate 3+ spooling or payoff lines Maintain quality and productivity standards with minimal supervision Complete all associated documentation accurately Demonstrate strong machine operation knowledge and efficiency Level 4 - Experienced Operator Operate all spooling machines within the department Run 3 or more lines independently while maintaining quality standards Assist with training and supporting less experienced operators Troubleshoot machine operation issues independently Serve as a resource within the department for machine operation and workflow support Qualifications & Skills Ability to read and understand work instructions and production documents Ability to complete paperwork legibly and accurately Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division Ability to use measuring tools such as: Micrometers Calipers Rulers and measuring tapes Digital scales Ability to operate complex production machinery Ability to make minor machine adjustments using hand tools Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to lift up to 75 lbs multiple times per shift Ability to work in a manufacturing environment safely and efficiently Education High school diploma or GED preferred Why Join Suhner USA?
