Job Summary US Machine & Tool is seeking an experienced Laser Operator / Fabrication Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position is primarily responsible for operating and supporting our laser cutting equipment while also assisting with other operations throughout the Fabrication Department as production needs require. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of laser cutting experience , a strong mechanical aptitude, and experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. TRUMPF laser experience is a strong plus. Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor CNC laser cutting equipment. Load material and properly stage material for production. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, and job travelers. Verify material type, thickness, dimensions, and job requirements prior to production. Perform first-piece and in-process quality inspections using appropriate measuring equipment. Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and productivity. Identify basic equipment, tooling, material, and quality issues and communicate problems promptly. Perform routine operator-level machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area. Accurately complete production documentation and report quantities, scrap, and other required information. Follow established safety, quality, and production procedures. Assist throughout the Fabrication Department as production requirements dictate, including material handling, part preparation, deburring, forming, assembly, and other fabrication-related activities. Work with Fabrication leadership and other team members to meet daily production and customer delivery requirements. Support continuous improvement, workplace organization, and overall department productivity. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment required. TRUMPF laser experience preferred. Experience working in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment. Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and blueprints. Ability to use basic inspection and measuring equipment. Understanding of manufacturing quality requirements and basic dimensional tolerances. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability. Ability to safely handle sheet metal, fabricated components, and production materials. Ability and willingness to perform multiple functions within the Fabrication Department. Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a production team. Physical Requirements This position requires regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling of manufacturing materials and components. The employee must be able to work safely in an active manufacturing environment and lift and move materials consistent with normal fabrication operations.
